~ BEFORE THE INTERVIEW ~
We want to set you up for a great interview, so we have a few suggestions that are kind of like a warm-up before the big game! We know you are busy, but we'd really appreciate it if you can listen to an episode before you come on the show. This way you know the style and type of interviews we do. You may have an idea for a story that would really resonate with the listeners, it is one way we make sure we don't miss any opportunities to make an incredible show.
~ THE INTERVIEW ~
We will record our interview on Skype, and it’ll take about 30-50 minutes of your time, depending on how in depth we get with our conversation. We’ll talk for a few minutes before we start the recording so that we can get to know each other a little bit and check the sound. Chris will also answer any questions you might have, and he will have you pronounce your name for him. After that, we’ll begin the recording.
We want you to be yourself as much as possible. You will have final cut, so if we dig deep during the show and you want to remove any of the recording, we can. If you need a pause during the interview, take it. Also, if you have any guaranteed hits/stories, they could be powerful, funny, sad or serious, please let us know.
~ TECHNICAL DETAILS ~
The Business Method Podcast is an audio-only podcast, recorded on Skype. If you do not have a Skype account, please sign up for a free one by clicking here and downloading the software to your computer.
Our Skype handle is 'The Entrepreneur House' and can be found at by searching 'email@example.com' on Skype. You’ll need to add us to your contact list. We will call you via Skype at the time that we’ve scheduled for our interview.
You’ll also need to:
Sit in a quiet place for the interview
Silence your phone(s)
Connect Skype to your headset/microphone
Turn off other on-screen applications that might be running on your computer
Use a headset with a built-in microphone or a stand-alone mic with earbuds. If you do not have a stand-alone mic, usually Apple earbuds work well, but it will sound much better with a mic.
~ INTERVIEW PROMOTION ~
After our interview, we will promote your podcast episode extensively on social media and through our email list. I encourage you to do the same thing. Promotion on your part isn’t a requirement for being a guest, but I highly recommend that you bring our interview to your audience’s attention. It is a great way to showcase your expertise and build your brand!
